Naperville after work splits two ways: Downtown, the Riverwalk grid of seafood rooms, Spanish mansions, and wine bars — or Route 59, the Freedom Drive corridor of brewpubs and beer bars with half-off food boards. Same town, different drive. Here is how the cited windows compare.

Downtown: the Riverwalk ticket

Meson Sabika (1025 Aurora Avenue) posts $5 tapas Monday–Thursday 3–6 PM, linked to bar bites on the specials calendar — no drink prices on that calendar. Catch 35 (35 S. Washington St) posts half-off the bar food menu Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday in the bar and patio, with weekday drink specials and no start–end clock: $12 martinis every Monday, $11 house margaritas every Tuesday, half-priced select bottles of wine every Wednesday, and $6 imported and craft beer every Thursday. Downtown is the district for a short walk and a sharp ticket: small rooms, printed numbers, Riverwalk outside.

Route 59: the brewpub board

Route 59 trades the Riverwalk for volume. Granite City Food & Brewery (Diehl Road, off I-88) posts happy hour Monday–Thursday 3–6 PM and Friday 1–6 PM with $6 apps (chicken tenders, spinach and artichoke dip, margherita flatbread), $7 pretzels and beer cheese, and $8 Idaho nachos or buffalo shrimp — plus Taco Tuesday's $10 taco trio with a $5 house margarita and Thursday's $3 GC pints. Old Town Pour House (1703 Freedom Drive) posts Monday–Friday 4–6 PM, dine-in only, at half-off the listed prices on that page: pretzel bites $9.00, popcorn chicken $9.00, cheese curds $9.50, fried pickles $8.50, buffalo chicken dip $13.00, kung pao cauliflower $13.00, and queso dip $11.00. No happy-hour drink dollars are printed on either Route 59 food board, so drink at menu price unless a daily deal names one.

The call

Walkable and sharp: Downtown — Meson Sabika's $5 tapas at 3, Catch 35's weekday special after. Volume and Fridays: Route 59 — Granite City from 1 PM Friday, Old Town's half-off board at 4. Check On now before the drive west; Catch 35 posts no clock, so confirm the special at the bar. All windows above come from the venues' own pages — full cards on Deals.
